1962 Born in Pennsylvania, USA. 1970 Moves to Surrey with family. 1981 Joins insurance company in London. 1986 Sets up own pensions and mortgage brokerage in the City. 1989 Sells business and moves to Stockholm, Sweden for two years. 1991 On return to London gets involved with local community work 1994 Appointed safer communities coordinator for South Glamorgan (now Cardiff) County Council. 1998 Becomes Community Participation Manager for the London Borough of Brent 2000 Appointed head of community planning & development at Norwich City Council. 2001 Becomes the UK's first neighbourhood manager. |
