  • The area has the highest number of lone parents in Hastings at 12% and 71% of these are economically inactive. 22% of Greater Hollington over-60's are dependant on Income Support (22%) compared with 18% in Hastings.
  • 28% of employed Hastings men work in the Greater Hollington area. The 4 industrial estates represent the largest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the Hastings travel to work area.

  • The area also hosts a large number of 'unofficial' businesses, mostly in the car trade and operating from residential premises.
